What changed in FSD 14.3.8

September 01, 2026

Official 14.3.8 notes match 14.3.7. The useful change is firmware 2026.26.6.5 — FSD on the 2026 Summer Update.

Official notes match 14.3.7

Tesla started rolling FSD (Supervised) 14.3.8 on August 25, 2026 in firmware 2026.26.6.5. The FSD bullets on the 14.3.8 version card are the same list as 14.3.7 (notes match 14.3.7): the v14.3 stack (reinforced-learning training, a vision-encoder upgrade, the MLIR compiler rewrite Tesla says cut reaction time by about 20%, plus parking, emergency-vehicle, traffic-light, and driver-monitoring items that landed earlier). We are not inventing a new stack list.

That is why a 14.3.8 card can look identical to 14.3.7. The version number moved. The published FSD notes did not.

The distinct ship is the Summer Update merge

NotATeslaApp’s notes for 2026.26.6.5 describe the firmware as Tesla’s Summer Update merged with FSD 14.3.8 in North America. Tesla Oracle’s August 28 writeup matches that: 14.3.8 and the 2026 Summer Update in one package, first seen on some cars August 25.

The Summer Update items on the same firmware, including Grok commands for calls, music, climate, and Controls search, are vehicle-software changes. They are not a new FSD stack. They are not unsupervised driving and they are not a Robotaxi launch.

Hardware 3 Model 3/Y stays on FSD 14.1 Lite. That is a separate branch with its own recap. This post is the 14.3.8 card only.

It is still supervised

FSD Supervised can start from park, change lanes, follow navigation, and park at a destination. It does not make the car autonomous. The driver has to stay attentive and be ready to take over. FSD Update is independent and not affiliated with Tesla, Inc.

If you are comparing versions on the road, a USB drive for Dashcam and Sentry is the usual owner setup. We link a 128GB Tesla Dashcam / Sentry USB. For non-Tesla Level 2 stations, use a J1772-to-Tesla adapter (not a Tesla-to-J1772 dongle).
