What changed in FSD 14.3.9 (Automatic Collision Evasion)

September 09, 2026

FSD 14.3.9 on firmware 2026.27.6 adds Automatic Collision Evasion. It can activate Full Self-Driving (Supervised) while you are driving manually if you are not sufficiently attentive, or if Supervised may have been unintentionally disengaged.

Automatic Collision Evasion is the distinct ship

FSD (Supervised) 14.3.9 is live on the tracker in firmware 2026.27.6, with a September 6, 2026 release date on the 14.3.9 version card. The driving-stack bullets on that card still look like the prior 14.3 list, so we are not re-listing them. The useful new ship is Automatic Collision Evasion.

Tim’s in-car screenshots (and the live card) use Tesla’s wording:

Automatic Collision Evasion activates Full Self-Driving (Supervised) to try to keep your vehicle safe and then continue driving. It can engage while you are driving manually and detects that you are not sufficiently attentive to the road (for example, reaching toward the back seat), or that Full Self-Driving (Supervised) may have been unintentionally disengaged.

See your Owner’s Manual for more details.

That is still FSD (Supervised). Automatic Collision Evasion is an active-safety path that can bring Supervised in while you drive manually, in the situations Tesla describes above. It is not unsupervised consumer FSD and not a Robotaxi launch.

How it sits next to 14.3.8

What changed in FSD 14.3.8 covered the Summer Update merge on firmware 2026.26.6.5. This post is the next point release: 14.3.9 on 2026.27.6 with Automatic Collision Evasion.

Hardware 3 Model 3/Y stays on FSD 14.1 Lite on its own card. This recap is the 14.3.9 card only.

Product context

This page is about FSD (Supervised) owner software. FSD Supervised can start from park, change lanes, follow navigation, and park at a destination. Robotaxi is a separate Tesla app and service. FSD Update is independent and not affiliated with Tesla, Inc.

If you are comparing versions on the road, a USB drive for Dashcam and Sentry is the usual owner setup. We link a 128GB Tesla Dashcam / Sentry USB. For non-Tesla Level 2 stations, use a J1772-to-Tesla adapter (not a Tesla-to-J1772 dongle).
